25 years of Epaccsys and Epicor: a partnership built for change

2026 marks a significant milestone for Epaccsys: 25 years as an Epicor partner.

To mark the milestone, our Founder and Managing Director, Ian Garvey, sat down with Paul Flannery, Vice President for International Channel Sales at Epicor, to reflect on the past quarter of a century and what comes next. From 25 years of technological change to the next generation of AI-enabled business, Ian and Paul discuss the experience, innovation and relationships that have shaped the Epaccsys and Epicor partnership – and importantly, where it goes from here.

A partnership that has evolved with technology

Ian’s experience with Epicor actually stretches back even further than Epaccsys’ 25-year partnership. Having worked with Epicor technology for around a decade before founding Epaccsys, he had already seen first-hand Epicor’s commitment to continually reinvesting in its products.

From DOS-based software to client-server technology, web services and Epicor ERP, and more recently Kinetic, SaaS and cloud solutions, that ability to evolve has been a constant throughout the relationship. For Epaccsys, it has also meant being able to support customers as their own businesses have changed.

During the conversation, Ian shares examples of long-standing customers that have transformed and grown significantly while working with Epaccsys and Epicor – expanding into new markets, opening international operations and adapting their business models as new opportunities emerged.

180 Epicor implementations – and experience that keeps growing

The Epaccsys team has grown too. Today, the business has around 45 employees and has completed 180 Epicor implementations. Collectively, Ian estimates the team is approaching 1,000 person-years of experience.

That depth of knowledge matters, but so does continuing to develop it. Ian highlights the importance of Epicor’s ongoing investment in education, accreditation and partner programmes, helping the Epaccsys team stay abreast of new technology, functionality and solutions.

The objective remains the same: applying that combined knowledge to create the best possible solutions for customers.

Looking ahead: the opportunity of AI

Unsurprisingly, the conversation doesn’t stay in the past for long. Artificial intelligence is already changing the way Epaccsys works. Ian points to simple examples such as AI-generated meeting notes, as well as developers increasingly using AI tools to support coding.

For manufacturers, he believes the impact will go considerably further, creating opportunities to achieve more, work faster and rethink established ways of working.

Rather than viewing AI simply as a way to replace existing roles, the discussion looks at how technology has always changed the nature of work – creating new roles and new possibilities as businesses adapt.

And when Paul asks what success for Epaccsys looks like over the next few years, Ian’s answer is clear: embracing AI throughout the business and finding new ways to make the most of what it can offer.

“AI can change so much – we’re limited only by our imagination.”
